Ode to the Vibrancy of WordsIt amazes me how,
you can paint a picture,
without a brush,
but a pencil instead.

But a pencil needs words,
and they hang in the air,
waiting until,
the writer is there.

The words are always,
just stretches away.
The writer reels them in,
and plasters them on page.

And he mixes them up,
to make different feelings.
Some happy, some sad,
some angry, some brave.

But he doesn’t just mix them,
he cuts them and bends them,
and twirls them and twists them,
‘till they form a shape.

And he places that shape,
with many others,
until he feels,
his creativity is out.

Then they take the masterpiece,
and they squish it to

Ten marshmallows
On ten sticks
Over one campfire

One hundred smiles
One hundred songs
Sung with one hundred voices
With one sound

One thousand heartbeats
One thousand memories
Of one thousand giggles
From one good time

One million women
One million girls
One million lives
With one dream

One billion goals
One billion nations
With one billion ideas
To make one difference

One hundred years
For one nation
With one goal
And one dream
For one hundred others

One voice
One song
One promise
One goal

Of one nation
And one world

Lest We ForgetOur brothers sailed the open seas,
and flew planes high above the breeze,
and trudged through mud up to their knees,
so peace can stand forever more.

Just trying to fix all that was wrong,
by raging wars, both hard and long.
We still can hear the trumpet's song.
So peace is heard from shore to shore.

For this peace so many died,
so many souls the angels guide,
to sit right up by God's left side,
so peace is felt at heaven's door.

And so we wear our poppies, red,
and remember what our elders said,
'bout things that haunt you till you're dead,
so peace is found right at our core.

Our families sail the open seas,

and I know you're looking back at me no matter where you are.
For when the sun is in the sky, it's light brights up our days,
but when it sets and drowns at sea, we go our separate ways,

I'm lost inside an unknown world and have no where to hide.
Now you've gone and gave me light to wash away my fears,
and every night just like tonight, it faithfully appears.

Rulers of the WorldAnd so the wind blows,
dry and cold,
fighting the invading summer suns,
that warm the wind,
and carry the sweet smell of change.

But still the winter fights,
with it's icy breath,
frosting the endless days of March,
full aware that it shall not win now,
it has had it's time.

Every ruler must fall to the challenge of another.

But still it lingers,
for not but another chance to fight,
in due course,
when change alights the air,
and hope is wasted,
on trifle summer delights.

That is the time the sun will set,
and the darkness will loom again,
plunging us into out deepest sorrows,
and coating our dreams in ice.
